Thor Heyerdahl (sp?) made a film about how the ancient Egyptians could not have built the pyramids without the help of some power (called "Sidli" (sp?)) that they used. His argument is that even modern cranes couldn't hoist stones that heavy on top of each other. I think he might underestimate the power of slave labor. Or how the markings on terrain in South America can only make sense from the air, ergo, they were "runway" lights for spaceships. The Aztecs also pictured a god in what looks like a vessel spurting fire from its tail (a rocket ship). There are many other examples, like how the Egyptian pyramids are perfectly aligned with those of the Mayan pyramids. That's about all I can remember. And how DID they get those huge rocks balanced on top of the pillars of Stonehenge? Easter Island is another mystery. There are many mysteries, but it is easy to speculate about "supernatural forces." Sometimes, though, the simplest explanation is the most credible one, that is, that people actually did build these things, without any help from "aliens". I tend to take the Occam's Razor approach and go with the simpler explanation.

There is far, far more evidence that these civilizations had both the knowledge and man power to build these structures than there is evidence that some superior intelligent lifeforms supplied the blueprints. It simply makes for good entertainment to build on the theories that they were incapable of such feats without extraterrestrial help.

some years ago there was a TV series made by BBC in which archaeologist together with stone masons and engineers attempted to duplicate the feats of the Egyptians, the Ancient Britons (stonehenge) and the Incas (South America.
They actually showed that with lots of thought, lots of men and lots of time, humans can cut, move and raise stone blocks of many tons, using only the tools that were available back then.
There is no mystery. The ancients had lots of time (seemingly more spare time than we have with all our labor saving devices), lots of patience and lots of free manpower.
Large stones were moved with levers, rollers and sledges, and various forms of lubricants to make things slide easily.
remember that the stone age lasted hundreds of thousands of years. These people were at the pinnacle of that age and could do things with stone that we can only imagine.

People who think that ancient civilizations needed "help" building the Pyramids, Stonehenge, etc. are simply wrong. These structures weren't that hard to build, they just took a fair amount of time. Any reputable book on archeology will show you how it was done.

Um...no...all that hype about the pyramids of giza being aligned with the Belt of Orion is blown way out of proportion, it just means that there were fairly intelligent people out there back then. Stonehenge? my bet is a large horde of Druids got stoned and stuck those rocks up after a fair amount of calculations.

Arcitecture has gone downhill ever since the pyramids. I know one who will tell you this is due to "outside influences".
