Best manager in baseball. In both leagues.
Who has done the best job this year.
Has to be either Jim Leyland or Joe Girardi.
Jim took the tigers to the best record in baseball.
He had talent. Lots of it.
But the team was used to loosing.
The Florida marlins have the lowest payroll in baseball. By far. At 14 million.
The next lowest is Tampa with 35 million.
And the team is ok.
With little talent.
Which is the best in baseball.
There really are no other choices.
Maybe Ozzie. With a ton of pressure. He has the second best record in baseball.
But it is really between Jim Leyland or Joe Girardi

DON'T PICK ONE FOR EACH LEAGUE.
JUST ONE OVERALL.
YOU WILL NOT BE CHOOSEN IF YOU PICK 2.

im glad you noticed how well girardi is doin because he deserve more credit than wut most people acknowledge. You pointed out the biggest issue our salary cap and look at us in the chase for the wild card. i doubt he will win the manager of the year unless he can take the marlins to the playoffs (hopeful but doubt it) or provide a good scare. so Leyland will be a safe bet for the manager of the year award.

Jim Leyland by far. He took one of the worst teams in baseball and turned them into the best team. How many managers have ever done that in the MLB? I'm not a Tigers fan, but I respect Jim. Jim shows you how big of a difference a manager can make. Leyland completely changed the Tigers attitude. Girardi is also a good manager, but I think he's second behind Leyland. Jim Leyland may go down as one of the best managers ever. I know that's saying a lot but he could.

Joe Girardi. The team was supposed to do terrible with the lowest payroll bye far in the majors. But, on August 15, the Marlins are still in the Wild Card hunt.

Jim Leyland hands down. He's taking basically the same team from 2 years ago(lets just say the lost a few to be nice). The Tigers are kicking some serious tale.

Joe Torre definetly, just look what hes done while their most clutch sluggers are out with big injuries. He installed a little small ball, somthing that has been missing from the yankees for a long time. He also has done a good job of mixing and matching his lineup before their big trade. When Boston was on the big winning streak when they werent making any errors he also made it so the yankees kept a close enough distance so when they cooled they'd be able to over take the east. Which as of now they have a three game lead over the sox

How in the world could anybody but Jim Leyland win this year? The massive turnaround has been the biggest poissitive story in MLB this year.
