This are going to be a few parts to this question

If there were one thing that you would like the glbt and striaght communities to reach consensus on, what would it be?

Why?

What can we do, as members of the glbt community, to help the straight community better understand us?

I know that there will always be people out there who don't like us, won't accept us and never will. They are entitled to their feelings. But I also hear a lot of complaining from the glbt community (myself included) about how "they just don't understand". So step right up, and lets see if we can't start to change our little sections of the world for the better!

First part is:WHO CARES WHAT GOES ON BETWEEN TWO CONSENTING ADULTS BEHIND CLOSED DOORS? That's the point, the whole point, and nothing but the point.

WORLD: Just realize we did not ASK to be this way,we did not CHOOSE to be this way,we just ARE this way,DEAL WITH IT!!

We will not "rub off" on your brother, sister, husband, wife, uncle,or your children. We have no desire to "convert" them into our clan. We are not a secret sect of society seeking to make people gay, lesbian,tg,or bi.

I know this is hard to accept, but just accept it,and for heaven's sake...........
MOVE ON ALREADY!!!

That GLBT is no diff than hetero. That we all have rights and should be protected by and tried under the law the same. That we're not pervs and it's not gross.

Be normal. Be just people. Don't be someone you're not. Be out. Don't hide away with just other GLBT people. Vote. Lobby. Boycott. Help the newbys and the next generation. Be there for eachother, publicly.

Everybody deserves the same rights. That's a legal issue. Whether straights agree , accept , tolerate , etc is a social issue. I think the worst thing for the gay side is the few pervevted flamers are the image of all gays to the str8s. The majority are the same as everybody else in all other aspects , but thats not the image.Work on that .

First Part: I wish we could all just accept the fact that sexual diversity is normal and can co-exist without bringing up all that religious baggage. Why: because I want us all to look like the people on Star Trek!

Second Part: better understand us? All straight people have to do is ask us about our lives with genuine curiosity - not judgment. We would all just LOVE to tell anyone about our dreams, lives, and aspirations.
