There is a little known book called "Hope's book of self defence" - It was written by in the 1800's Sir William Hope and teaches how to use a sword in REAL situations (not like in sport fencing where you go forward & back and get a hit - this book was used by soldiers & duellists who wanted to stay alive).

The only place I know who teaches it / will have a copy is the Linacre School of Defence, part of Oxford University.

you can't learn it from a book you need to actually practice with a sword against someone (use a blunt sword not a sharpened one ) swords are heavy so you need to do lot's of arm exercise
