Ask to speak to the trainer after the training session. Go over things that you feel would be beneficial to you. Ask for information that was unclear to you. Maybe if you need to clarify enough information, she will take back over the training session, instead of letting someone else do the talking. The trainer probably doesn't want to be rude. And the older lady is probably trying to prove that she is worthy of the position.

Actually she is not snubbing you, she is snubbing the trainer. If she keeps it up she will make a very poor impression on them. Probably she feels insecure about being trained for a job with someone so much younger than her. Maybe she thinks she is just being helpful. Don't be rude to her or it will reflect badly on you. When she does interrupt the trainer or answer your question, turn to the trainer and ask if the woman has it right and ask if there is anything else you need to know regarding the question.

Hey to me she is obviously hating on you because you are the younger lady she may feel threatened by you.If not thatshe may be the loud pushy type she may mean no harm she may be making a lame attempt to impress the training instructor. Next time she butts in you throw on your sexiest smile and say I was talking to the trainer so and so. When all else fails get to know who makes you uncomfortable, you may at some point like most
workplaces knowing her story either from her directly or through someone else who you both will end up. or hey maybe there is something about her that rubs you the wrong way. take a deep breath and enjoy the fact that you have a new gig and she is going no where,so suck up her quirks. the fact is annoying people come with lifes territory she may be sent to bring out the whatever in you or you to may end up cool. exhale.......I wish you the best.

Maybe the older lady wants to show your trainer that she knows everything, kind of like the kid who has to answer every question in a class. You should tell your trainer how you feel about her answering your questions and just tell them about how you would like to get feedback and ect. This way the trainer will know that you actually want interaction and they will probably try to reign in the other lady.

The older woman is probably just trying to show her interest in the new job. And trying to impress the trainer.Don't take it as a personal attack.
You just need to concentrate on you--and learning the way the company wants you to do the job, so after the training period, you will still have a job.
Perhaps you can study up on the training material, so that will be prepared for the training class--the time you take for your own knowledge and drive for success will keep you occupied rather than stressing over some other trainee.

talk to your trainer privately and tell him how you feel. Let your trainer know that you believe that you are not getting enough out of the training because you are not getting direct answers from him/ her. Hopefully, this trainer will speak to this other woman and tell her to stop answering for him/ her. She (the annoying lady) will probably believe that the trainer is offended by her answering and not place the blame on you or anyone else for complaining. good luck

apparently this older lady know more than the trainer, huh?
Just ask HER next time and see if that changes anything. Or ask her how did she get to know so much in such a short amount of time.
I do not think it is anything personal towards you, she may be just trying to impress the trainer heself.
Since she is older, her insight is on a higher level automatically and her confidence is showing a bit more than yours.
Hang in there hon!
:-)

She's just trying to show off. The next time she tries to answer a question you asked the trainer, politely, but firmly interrupt her and say something like "I'm sorry Mary, I was asking Mr. Jones the question" if that doesn't help, keep a list of your questions, keep asking them (trust me on this, your trainer WANTS you to ask questions) and then talk to the trainer one on one later on about the situation.

Well, this woman is probaly either doing one of two things: 1. She is very naive and thinks she knows everything, shows she wants to inform you and show off to the trainer at the same time. or 2. This might be a little odd, but she could be flirting wth you. She could be showing off in front of you in order to impress you ( Which, evendentally, it's not doing!) either way, I suggest you talk to this woman politely and tell her you would rather hear the answer from your trainer, not her. Good luck

Maybe she knows the answer to your question and is saving the trainer some time, but if it is really bothering you go up to the older lady and tell her that you appreciate her answering your questions, but you would rather have your trainer answering them since he probably has all the answers to your questions.
