Yes, it's called repression, I'm pretty sure it can happen at any age. It can come back later. I saw a woman on a talk show who hired a hypnotist for her friends birthday, when no-one volunteered to be hypnotized she stepped forward figuring ppl would be less reluctant to go after her. While on stage she remembered being molested as a kid. She didn't have a clue that it had happened.

This is the minds way of protection itself. It can also happen to adults and may be a form of amnesia. The event or selected parts of it may surface years later.
