my friend says she's a nymphomaniac and i have no idea what that is and she won't tell me

A nymphomaniac is one that is manically interested in having sex. They need to have sex all the time. And they must be girls, if they were men they would be called Satyriasis. Actually the clinical term is now hypersexuality (for both sexes)
While there does exist a clinical term for it, and the condition actually exists, it is rather rare. A girl that is slightly more horny than average does not qualify. Only if she is so horny that it makes it impossible for her to function in a normal life/job/etc, would it be appropriate to use the label nymphomaniac. Nymphomani usually occurs in conjunction with other mental diseases.
In pornographic movies, and novels, the females are often described as nymphomaniacs. Their symptoms bear little resemblance to the clinical disease, and seems mostly to be an outgrowth of male fantasy.
Either way, your friend is not a nympho! She may like sex, but that's not a disease, that's what we all do!

a nymphomaniac is every guy's fantasy. However usually a nymphomaniac does not proclaim it out loud. In plain words a nymphomaniac is a girl that wants sex 24/7. A nymphomaniac is what a girl pretends to be when they first meet a guy and are trying to get him to settle down/commit. Once they get married/move in/live together the nymphomaniac symptoms stop and it turns into the total opposite.

A nympho is someone that is ADDICTED to sex. Sometimes it is because of a mental problem or illness that a person cannot help. Other times, people are just being whores.

I can't believe that you can spell it and you don't know what it means. It's someone who thinks they "need" to have sex all the time - that they are never satisfied with what they have. Good luck to your friend, remind her to be safe.
