I got my ears pierced at Claire's about 2-3 weeks ago and I understand that I have to keep my studs in for another 3-4 weeks. They told me that I can't take them out for 6-8 weeks, and I have to clean them everyday like 3-4 times a day with their soloution, which I know are the basic precautions after ear lobe piercings. But they told me that I can't wear any Dangle/Chandlier/Hoop/etc. earrings for a year. What's up with that? I understand it's probobly because my ears need to get used to the earrings and for them not to sag, but can't I wear them for like a couple hours a day and take them out? Did anyone wear Dangle/Chandlier/Hoop/etc. after 6-8 weeks? I want to know if your ears sagged. I really want to wear dangly earrings cause they're in, and studs arn't. Unless you're going somewhere formal or something. I'm already getting tired of my studs, I really want to wear dangly ones sooner. Do you think I can do that after my 6-8 weeks?

I'm unpierced, but I did go with my daughters to Claires when they got their ears pierced, and no one said anything about not wearing chandelier earrings -- which is what my daughter was really wanting to do. Two of my girls wore dangly earrings with no problems. One daughter did get her ear lobes a little torn. She had to use her studs again for a while until the ears healed -- about three weeks. Then she wore the dangly things again.
So, in our experience, there is not a rule about what types of earrings to wear after the initial placement and healing. We were told to avoid the cheaper earrings as they can cause reactions. However, my girls wear the cheaper ones with no problems.
The number for your local Claires is at the bottom of the pink form they send home with you after the piercing. You should call that number. They were very available to answer questions for us as my girls went through the process.
Good luck.

Keep regualar studs in for at least the 6 weeks. Then, you can try dangling, et al if you can find stid forms of them. If you go back to Claire's, I be you could. The claire's by me has a full spinny thing of dangling studs. Before even attempting to wear regular hanging earings however, i've heard as little as 3 months, 6 a few more times then 3, but never a year.

They are probably being a little bit overly cautious, but then they are professionals and the only reason they tell you that is for your own good. They have nothing to gain by telling you that. I have a few friends whose earring holes have gotten stretched out from wearing dangly type earrings too soon after getting their ears pierced, their ear lobes also look kind of stretched out. I would wait at least a couple of months after removing the first studs before wearing the earrings they warned about.

yes, I wore hoops and my ears didnt sag...as soon as I was ready to take my studs out 6 weeks later I wore hoop earrings. Whoever told you this, was either stupid, or just didnt know what they was talking about. If I was you I would do the same thing as I did and take the studs out when the time is ready and start wearing the earring that you want to wear, because you are right studs arn't really in. =)

it is basically a piercing, can not you wait till your sixteen? you would be able to break you mothers and dads emotions in case you flow in the back of their backs. No i does not injury. there is greater of a wager of your ears getting contaminated in case you get it pierced with a gun, it is suitable to get it accomplished with a needle (frightening i comprehend) besides the undeniable fact that it relatively does not injury, for a chop up 2d it hurts a tiny bit yet then the ear is going numb. Gok Wan has stretched ear lobes, so till your making plans to stretch your ears, i'd decide for the stud. stable success on in spite of the fact which you come to a style.

it has nothing to do with sagging ears. it has to do with the size of the hole in your ears. dangly earrings hang from your ears with more narrow/small wires than post earrings. if you use dangly earrings, the holes may shrink and might not be able to wear stud/post earrings ever again. even a few hours can make a difference, i wouldn't risk it.

I've never heard of theat - but maybe you should leave it for about 8 weeks before wearing hoop earrings - give your ears chance to get used to you changing them and then try. If they feel uncomfortable - take them out - never heard of them sagging though

I did that, and it was a big mistake...for me. I still have a hard time wearing heavy/danglie earrings. You should wait at least 6 months.
