I just looked up like 5 different thing and got like 3/4 of the search page worth of crap! Why dont they filter out the sites that obviously use your own search syntax against you?? Any other search sites out there that filter this?? I am about to remove yahoo as my search page. It's so frustrating!!

I get similar results with google, I got the same kind of garbage at AOL and Alta Vista, and the old Spyder search. It's the nature of the beast.

Yahoo, (nor anyone else) can effectively filter out the syntax in the site's META because the legitimate sites use the same methods to direct the engines.

By the way. How do you define SPAM sites? You mean where someone is trying to sell something or advertise something for sale? That pretty much includes most of the dot com sites, a lot of the dot net and other places as well.

The problem may not be with how a search engine presents the sites. The search engine is dumb. It may have more to do with how the search is worded. Maybe an "Ask Jeeves" locator would work better for what you need.

Try changing the settings on your computer. Also, I downloaded the google toolbar that has an awesome popup blocker. It works well.
