Catholic, aka Jesuit schools do not emphasize religion in their studies as much as other religious schools do. I would not be turned off it solely because of that. If you really want to know what it's like, arrange a visit, go to some classes and stay on campus for a night. Then you will get a feel for how it is - I doubt you will even be able to tell the difference between this campus and any other non-affiliated private school.
As a side note, I have a friend that attends St. Thomas and I am pretty sure he isn't Catholic. He seems to like it and have a REAL good time...if you know what I'm saying. Haha.

My ex girlfriend went to St Mary's in London and she's not religious at all. She said religion wasn't really important there, though their rules were pretty opressive. For instance the visiting HOUR for non-students was 11pm-midnight, lol.
It probably makes little difference, go there if it's your favourite!

Catholic colleges are pretty good at teaching science and other secular subjects compared to the other church sponsored colleges and so-called universities (like Oral Roberts, etc.).
But even so, there will be subtle attempts at converting you to their points of view on women's rights, abortion, etc.
