I think it depends on the weight of your child. If he or she is underweight then give whole milk. If your child is heavier then 2%.

Well its very important for a baby over 1 to have good fat for brain development (this is vital). Whole is the best, but some babies cannot tolerate it. My daughter couldnt drink the whole in the beginning so she was (still is) on a combo of Soy milk, 1%milk and whole milk yougurt. She gets the whole from the yougurt.

Good Luck :-)

If your baby is older than 1 , but younger than 2 you should give them whole milk unless they are overweight for their age. If they are older than 2 then you could give them whatever you feel is best, but whole milk would be better for a child that is on the small side.

At age 1 whole milk is recommended because until age 2 (or later if they were a preemie, or have other health problems) they need the extra fat for brain development. Always check with your baby's doctor though.

The best milk to give your baby is whole milk. It has essential milk fat, vitamins and calcium that help promote good growth and development, but it also depends on how old your baby is, if they are not at least a year old I would still have them on formula or breast milk.

Once your baby turns 1, you should give him whole milk (4% milk fat) until he turns 2. Once he turns 2, you can give him whatever you want. 1-2 year olds need the extra fat in milk for brain development...it's crucial.

I always used whole milk from when they started cow's milk(1 year) until about 2. No idea why...I blame my mom :P Now they drink 2%...but my son still prefers the whole kind.
