I would say it depends on what you are into....
Are you a nature type of person? Try the west coast, there is a lot of variety in California, desert, beach, mountains, leaks, anything really. Also you have the redwoods, death valley (which if you go at the right time of year has AMAZING natural formations!)
Are you a city type of person? Try the east coast, there are a lot of huge metropolis areas full of "culture", art, fashion, musuems, historic monuments (think New York).
I already see a lot of posts for vegas....I have visited and lived in vegas and I fell its over rated. Depending on what country you are from gambling, drinking, and seeing 1/2 naked women may not be that big of deal.... It is one big party town - and if thats what you are into then Las Vegas is for you!
Good luck and have fun!

I would stay away from the big cities (except for 2) and especially Vegas. Consider Washington DC if you like museums and you would enjoy seeing the seat of government. The park by the capitol and the White House is over 2 miles long. New York City if you can afford midtown Manhattan is also nice. What I would do is to visit the National Parks in the West. Yosemite in California, Yellowstone in Wyoming and Grand Canyon in Arizona are the best. Consider flying to Salt Lake City and renting a car to drive to Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Also, don't miss the Mormon Tabernacle in SLC. It all depends on if you prefer cities or the outdoors and driving. Have a great time! Alaska and Hawaii are also exceptional, but a long ways from the mainland. I would never consider a vacation in Mexico when I could do the things I wrote about here.

where are you from?
how much time do you have?
from a small town in Europe for 1 week: go to New York City for the short flight and the city
from a big city coming for a month: buy a National Park Pass and rent a car in San Francisco, then drive up the west coast into Canada, hitting all the parks on your way
come back down along the Rocky Mountains, stop for horseback riding in Wyoming or Montana, go down to Bryce/ Grand Canyon and fly back from Las Vegas (worth a short stop) or Los Angeles
do not try to drive across from coast to coast, you'll spend many days on the plains, which are not too scenic for a honeymoon

Hawaii is perfect for honeymoon......the new four seasons would be so so romantic, has great beaches and is just an amazing place. If you don't want beach holiday but something with more to do why not Boston, it's my fave place in the world and so much to do, you can hire a car and drive up to Maine etc and visit cape cod!!!

for a honeymoon? all I can think of is Hawaii... beautiful beaches and palm trees... a tropical paradise... OR, if its in the winter, you could head on over to Vermont and go skiing... really, depending on what you want and what you like to do, you could go anywhere. if you wanted to visit museums (interesting choice), i'd say maybe New York City... actually... you could go to a broadway show and dinner there too... pick an activity and time of year, and you could go anywhere... i suggest that you find a travel agent... they'll know good places... or, repost a question with what you two like to do and what time of year, and you'll get better answers, im sure. good luck w/the marriage and I hope all goes well!
