We are talking about two totally different men. I personally think they are both talented. Tom Cruise is dyslexic and has to work much harder than most actors. Tom Cruise is better in action movies, whereas Tom Hanks is better in dramatic roles. I know most people will say Tom Hanks is better, but I think Tom Cruise should be given credit where credit is due. Besides I think most people on here are biased and will answer negatively towards Cruise just because of his antics lately with Katie and Scientology.

Tom Hanks performs well in a variety of character roles.
Tom Cruise typically plays the same character. In film, he is the up-and-comer learning the ways of the world. In real life, he plays a manic whackjob jumping on couches and pontificating on why others shouldn't seek assistance for their mental health issues rather than seeking help for his own.
Put a different way: Tom Hanks is an actor. Tom Cruise is merely a celebrity.

Tom Hanks is a wonderful actor, he can take any role and run wih it, much like Johnny Depp. Tom Cruise has only impressed me in one or two of his movies. Now that he has been pushing his religious beliefs on anyone who will talk to him I am apt not to see another movie he is in.
