world leaders had degrees in a humanities subject rather than being economists, lawyers, and business-orientated qualifications?

For the ones that mentioned the economic endevours of humanitarian world leaders ... that's what advisors are for! They advise and don't decide.

Yes. The world run on a business model is being consumed faster than it can regenerate. It doesn't have to be so. Maximising profit at the expense of animal habitat, not to mention human habitat, is wreaking havoc on the world.

If we had leaders who made decisions based on humanitarian issues and had a more rounded education then I believe that the world would indeed be a better place.

Do you mean that people with humanities degrees cannot be evil or power hungry? Why not? These deficiencies are possible in anyone. I doubt the college degree has much to do with it.

To me the education for a good leader would consist of intense spiritual training from the time of early childhood. Notice I said spiritual, not religious. There is a difference. Spiritual training means learning how to be tolerant, humble, kind, peaceful, seeing every living being as equally important parts of the Supreme and merciful. And most importantly, how to be a pure representative of the Lord. This means having no hidden agenda for selfish desires, just guiding the citizens toward spiritual realization.

actually leaders should be excellent with loving kindness, intergrity, considerate and spiritually.and all this things come from heart not from the external sumbstances. however, what a person had learned it effects often therefore, if leaders were educated in humanities rather than with lawyer, business, economy oriented qualifications, the world would become better place.definitely...but not the best place.

in all probability, no it would be the same because there is a lot more to a country than its leaders. They would find that decisions
would be made by people with the relevant background . If the economists lawyers or business orientated people were needed they would make the decisions.

I definitely think approaches like UK plc are ways to morally bankrupt our society , whilst being more materially successful, of course.
There is an argument that seems to hold water that , everything is and always has to be in balance, so the creation of a beneficent leadership ,would probably result in frustration amongst those who had different agendas ,and political polarisation, at best, possibly resulting in a semi-fascist rebound.
But this means that maybe there is a more balanced position between forces of greed and generosity ,etc,etc.. and I suspect we're in the general ball park area now,at least in the UK. I don't know if you've noticed that all three main parties are almost indistinguishable in policies.
So that could be the best we're likely to get !

Just because they have a degree in Humanities, doesn't make them human!!!

Sorry but Politicians go into politics for power, not humanitarian reasons. Doesn't matter what qualifications they have, they still wouldn't be any different.

You'd be better off handing the world over to musicians, they have the soul to look after the world, i.e Sir Bob and Bono.

I see where you are coming from, but I think it is opposite-world leaders would have degrees in economy, law, etc., but no so many in humanities subjects. And yes I do think the world would certainly be a better place if world leaders had more degrees in humanities subjects.

It certainly would help if economists , lawyers and business people had knowledge and education in humanities. However all the knowledge in the world if not applied is useless, and the person lacks compassion in the world.

Nah, I think the world would go to ratsh*t anyway. Humans are egotistical and greedy. A few humanitarian degrees wouldn't change that

It's what's in the heart and not the brain that makes the world a better place! A big heart always wins people over not an impressive qualification.
