Dream Theater is my favorite, now that it appears Pink Floyd will never record another album.
The reason Dream Theater is my favorite, is their unparalleled musicianship. There are other prog rock and prog metal bands out there, but Dream Theater is a true "musicians band" That is, some of their biggest fans are other professional musicians.
VH1 Classic will be airing a 1 hour, abbreviated version of Dream Theater's upcoming DVD "Score" several times at the end of August.

The Vines. No one gives them the credit that they deserve for bringing modern Australian rock to the states. Without The Vines, none of you would no Jet, Neon, or Wolfmother.
About The Vines music, it is just amazing. At moments they are the most aggressive rock band you have ever heard, and at other moments, they can make melodies so beautiful they will make you cry. Please check them out.

lately, i have really been into wide spread panic, and los lonely boys. but if pressed into picking an all time favorite, it would have to be Bruce Springsteen and the E street band. his songs actually have something to say and by far the greatest live performances i have ever seen.

no bands anymore really. Except duo's,Savage Garden, Kelly Clarkson, Aly and AJ, Miley cyrus, Skye Sweetnam.

you sound like a kid, and the answers that your kid following are jotting down, sound to be about your style. You wouldn't understand, nor would you like my kind of music, however, if you ever feel like listening to something good, try some Lunachicks, L7, Birmingham 6, hate dept., stiff little fingers, bikini kill. Stuff like that....greenday, fall out boy, panic at the disco.....don't make me laugh...

the velvet underground... pure genius, and laid the foundations for the current music scene. most moderately talented musicians, when questioned what their influences are, will mention the velvet underground. The poetry of the music is inspiring, the lyrics, the soulful melodies, the way they are bound together and lou reed's deep soothing voice. i love it...

I love the Goo Goo Dolls because they are such a great band and every one of their songs are great.
