When has a one party system over worked?
look at the one party systems throughout history:

iraq-baath part
germany-nazi pary
russia and china-communist party
cambodia-khomer rouge

like it or not you need an opposite counter-part to keep your party in check and vice-versa so deal with it, otherwise you will end up with a repressive and corrupt government.

It's not whether there is another party or not. It is how far the other party will go to win, the direction it will take this nation, and will it lead in the tradition that was intended by our Founding Fathers?

As for a one party system? Boring. At least two is fine, so long as BOTH are willing to uphold, not alter, American values.

Well since there are things I like about both parties I couldn't imagine not having them both. They each have some good ideas. They also each have some bad ideas in my eyes anyway. That's what is great about being able to vote my conscience

Well, of course we need liberals. Many voters vote the following way:

Nixon/McGovern -- Nixon
Carter/Ford -- Carter
Reagan/Carter -- Reagan
Bush, Sr. -- Who against George Herbert Walker Bush was it Dukakis?
Clinton/Bush -- Clinton
Clinton/Perot -- Ross!
Bush/Gore -- Bush
Bush/Kerry -- W again

Yes, everyone needs checks and balances, but MUST it be Bill and Hillary Clinton, Charles Schumer, Dianne Feinstien, Barbara Boxer, and Ted Kennedy?

Oh, I almost forgot, AND Michael Moore.

I don't hate Liberals, I simply don't want them to run the country! If you want to know why, see my blog:

You're correct. When we say "go away", we just mean from any real power. As long as they are there, it keeps runaway conservatism in check.
