Depends on them. I go weeks at a time, other times I bring out the bird multiple times in a day. Usually for folks that cut me off or who are putting along in the left hand lane on the freeway. %99 of the folks who get the bird from me are doing one of those two things.

Folks that stop on the freeway onramp (except where freeway traffic is stopped or there are lights installed) deserve far more than a finger. Those people are trying to kill people.

The most hilarious one turned out to be two cops. They were holding up traffic badly in a beat up old pickup in the left hand lane doing 70 in first a 60 then in a 65. The whole time just putting at 70 while cars when they got a chance snaked past them in the right three lanes. Finally after a half hour of being trapped behind these twits I got close enough and saw an opportunity to pass them on the right. As I did I flipped them off and went on to my normal 80. By this time I was almost to my onramp but I got there a good 5 mins sooner than I would trapped in that dangerous bunching of cars caused by the undercover cops.

I glanced in the rearview and noticed they were doing at least 90 to catch up to me. A speed I think was not safe in that old pickup. I didn't pay much attention until they slowed down and pulled in behind me. The followed when I moved from the center lanes to the right hand and as we are exiting they cut off a car to get next to mine and started shouting at me. I rolled down my window figuring I was about to get in a fight and they waived thier badges at me. They were not amused at my flipping them off. I tend to believe they were geniune badges mostly by the arrogance of thier actions. Though they could have been fake badges. Anyway after shouting at me about flipping them off and nearly running into a car that cut them off while thier attention was on yelling at me. They drove off presumably to cause traffic jams furthor on down the freeway. The irony is first that they jumped my case for speeding yet they sped first through slower parts of the city, then to catch up to me. You could cut the hypocracy with a fork.

I've waved my middle finger at a few drivers but regreted afterwards. The last one was a really mean looking guy who probably carries a bat and a gun with him. Haven't done it since.

When you say "wave" do you mean "flip off"?

I wave at people all the time just to see if they'll wave back

I wave when there is someone in the car with me. Or I blow them a kiss. If there is no one else in the car - then the bird comes out.

I don't "wave" at them. Why would I want the attention of a moron on the road? Get him back or let it go...
