Actually, I've known a lot of folks who have worked on Wall Street as brokers, and the great majority of them had bachelor's degrees in Economics, History, Political Science, or Math.
These were folks who went to prestigious colleges, though. (Amherst, Williams, Vassar, Columbia, etc.) Many of them left the business after a few years, having made the money they needed to do what they REALLY wanted, but those who stayed often went on to get MBAs in order to move up in the business.
