I'd only give up my seat if she was elderly or handicapped. If not, I'd keep myself parked right there.

An interesting question. I would definitely offer my seat to an elderly or disabled person (man or woman, doesn't matter). If it seemed like the woman was being inconvenienced by standing, I would offer her my seat. However, I recognize this practice is becoming politically incorrect, so I would make sure to determine whether she actually wanted a seat or not.

Yes, I remain standing on a train anytime there are not enough seats for everyone. As a healthy 30-something male I prefer to leave the seats open for people who might need them more than me.

Well, I'm a girl so no, but if she was elderly or pregant yes.
I think unless there is something wrong w/you anyone should give up their seats for the elderly, disabled or a pregnant lady. Or even a lady w/young kids so she doesn't have to try to hold them and stand up.
But most people don't think that way do they.

I agree with siege. Of course I would give up my seat and anyone who wouldn't is a moron.
