So I pluck my eyebrows, right? Well I always get it done just the way I want it, then I look in the mirror and I have what looks like a shadow ontop of my eyebrows that won't go away. I am far too chicken to get a wax because i've been plucking for a few years now. What should I do? Do i have to pluck deeper, or what?

oh yeah i'm also blonde, and i was wondering also how tweezers could grab the thin blonde hairs above the darker.

thank you so much everyone.

Its not red, it kinda looks like a bruise. It doesn't hurt and i've had it for a really long time.

i've got to get my eyebrows done before August 22nd, and i was just thinking that plunking would be easier to do. Some of my friends have had bad experiences with waxing, one person dripped wax on my friends eyelid, and burned it, and the others eyebrow started bleeding afterwords. Also i just plucked on saturday so I don't have many hairs to get pulled, even if i do get a wax, it might pull of skin...won't it?

The shadow above your eyebrows could be some of the hair left below that you're not managing to pull up completely when you pluck. The thin blonde hairs above the darker are very difficult to pull out with a pair of tweezers...

Now, i know you're not going to want to hear this..but waxing is soooo much better, and much less time consuming. I was once an avid plucker like you, I plucked for years, refusing to do the waxing thing because i was afraid it would hurt. Then, i went with a friend, and she has no pain tolerance whatsoever and she did just fine. So, needless to say, I gave it a try and it was nothing. The waxing is over quickly, and yeah, it stings a bit when they rip the paper back, but it's only for that second, whereas with plucking, that hurts over and over again with each hair you pull out. Plus, waxing will get those pesky blonde hairs that you're having trouble removing, and is much more effective at removing the entire hair. It is also cheap and fast...you might wanna rethink giving it a try.

Best of luck to yah!

It's best to pluck your eyebrows at night, after your shower. So you can have time to let the whiteness change color. It becomes white because the area isn't that used to being plucked out. By morning, it might not be fully your skin color. Try to use the same colored skin liquid foundation. Keep plucking in the same direction as your eyebrow hair is, you're doing good! Hope I helped you!

If you try to get every hair it's going to just drive you crazy. do you pluch on top of your eyebrows? I used to model and was taught never to pluck above, only from under. Of course you may get a stray wild hair once in a while and those are ok to pluck. The sculpting of the eyebrows needs to happen from under the eyebrows, through. I am also blonde. Leave the thin blonde ones alone or you will soon find yourself plucking your whole face!

After you finish plucking you spread a little witch hazel on your eyebrows to reduce the puffyness you get afterwards.....As far as a shadow that your tan from not shaving your eyebrows in a few days or weeks, etc; I get that once in a while.

I was always afraid to do it myself, inflicting pain on yourself is not enjoyable, but I went the first time to a salon to get them waxed professionally, and believe me, it is NOT bad! I don't have to go often, and they only charge $10., and that's not bad to have them done by a professional that knows what they are doing, and they look much better, than if I did them! Do yourself a favor, and get them done, and you will be glad you did!! Really does not hurt!

I wax my brows. it hurts the first time, but the more you wax the less it hurts. it helps to open up your pores before waxing it makes it hurt less. i run a cloth under hot water and apply it to just the brow area. i really like it and im going to have to go out and get some more. i use the NO-tweeze brand i get it at Sally's beauty supply, and use a candle warmer plate to heat it up with.
it gets the wax just hot enough to appy and not take any skin with it. and use the manicure sticks to apply it.

this may seem so random and pointless, but its really important. not many people know this, but the number one rule in plucking is to always cry when you need to. also use Nair wax strips. its so gentle, it feels like tape.
