Go for it, Girl!
Lots of the fun and power of cheerleading comes from the heart and spirit that you bring to it! Work with your coach to help you find a role you can do within your ability. And don't take it personally if a few crude people in the stands make comments. You're not letting limits get in your way!
Your participation in cheerleading will definitely help you strengthen your muscles and tone your body. Your team'll benefit from your enthusiasm!
But just be careful...I hear that pom poms can make you sneeze!

Honey if you want to try out for cheerleading do so. Gymnastics, which is what cheerleading is all about, is a great sport and good for your body. Just be careful.
When I was in HS (A LOOOOONNNNGGGG TIME AGO) there was a cheerleader who was terrific. She could do some of the most difficult cheers and tumbling runs I have ever seen a girl do. She was also blind and wore a hearing aide in her left ear.

I dont want to be mean but i dont think that a cheerleading squad is going to accept a girl who cant do any thing with there arm. You need to lift people, do flips, etc. you would basically be pointless on the team. If they did accept you it would be out of pity. I sorry to be so mean but i just dont want you to get your hopes up take it from me being the head cheerleader i dont think that it would happen. You should still find another goal to work towards and loose that weight!
good luck

First, ask your doctor if there is going to be any problems with your arm that will become worse if you join cheerleading, then, if all goes well,
You go for it!!! Yay! I am all for nice cheerleaders! In fact, I myself am a cheerleader, and last year there were a lot of people who could stand to loose a few pounds, but they were great cheerleaders! Good luck!!!!

Sure, why not? I'm a guy, and well, at least to me, cheerleading looks a lot more interesting than running around after some ball that isn't even round. Have fun!

well although i know nothing about cheerleading, (i'm not American), i say you should always try, if you really want something so bad go for it.
i dont think physical appearence or weight should have anything to do with cheerleading. but like i said i dont know the rules about cheer leading.
try it go for it, you could get in and have you chance to prove your self.
good luck, make your self happy babe.

if you like cheerleading, go for it, weight doesnt matter, you can be 500 hundred pouds and if ur able to do the splits you can do cheerleading
watch the movie bring it on all or nothing
it shows that you dont have to be a stick figure to cheer.

Go for it. If they don't accept you, you can join something else like dance. If they have another cheerleading squad that is a lower level, try out for that!!! Good luck!
