I read some answers to a question that talked about blacks having their own tv show, BET, and NAACP and Black Miss America. What I got from it was that many of you (who answered) believe that it is racist to have these things. Some even went to the extreme to compare it to whites having a WET and an all white Miss America. I am just curious to know how is it similiar. I never heard anyone express that view. I

This is so upsetting because I don't understand your point of view. BET, NAACP, and Black Miss America was established because black people, as a whole, were excluded from MTV and Miss America and was overlooked for scholorships. I know some of you are too young to know what discrimination is but its not a myth...it did exist.

I just wanted to give you credit for asking this question, I'm neither black or white, but I certainly believe it's racist. And yes, if they came up with a WET, or all white Miss America every body will be screaming it's racism...but nobody says anything about BET.

My Wife is Japanese, I am " white "..and we both feel a separation of the races in any form IS a form of racism...Why have a Black Chamber of Commerce and A Japanese Businessmen club, But if anything starts with WHITE...it's wrong? We are all in this together, and having a Black or Latin Movie or Music awards is just wrong. The Academy Awards honor all people, not just white, and the Grammies award all people, not just Latins...see????

I remember a day when blacks were not even allowed on TV and for some of these people that are still in that zone any shows that are all black seem strange don't sweat it ignorance is rampant in this country.

Don't you think having a network, show, pageant, college fund, or association for the advancement of that is inclusive to one particular race is raciest if not I would like to know your definition of racism.

everybody knows that a white show stays on longer than a black show.If south park ,bevais and butt head,etc,was a black show it would have been cancelled a long time ago.its good to have something that can't be cancelled.

it's true...people can have an all black frat but if white people do that it is a hate crime and is racism. If you want equal rights then you shouldn't be able to completely separate yourselves either.
