Recently suffered a misscarriage, but I'm ready to try again once my normal menstural cycle comes back. Did not have to have a D&C (uterus cleaned) and I was only a couple of weeks when I miscarried. Some say it is too soon to try again any advice?

Kenya ~

First and foremost, so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I have had four miscarriages. With the first one it passed naturally and they didn't recommend a D&C because with your next normal period, the remaining (if any) will clear out. With my second and third I had D&C's just to get it done and over with. With my fourth I had the choice of passing naturally or have a D&C. I told them I wanted to pass it naturally to let my uterus have a break from the last two D&C's. I miscarried anywhere from 7-12 weeks. I would recommend 2-3 NORMAL cycles and then you could be able to try again. Some fertility specialist recommend longer, but mainly so you can recoup emotionally. If you're ready emotionally, I'd say wait for a minimum of 2 cycles and try again.

Good luck dear!

Sorry you had a miscarriage but you should be talking to an OB doctor about when you should try again and probably get a D&C done to make sure none of the previous pregnancy is left in your system.

I had a miscarriage once and the doctor told me to wait 3-12 months to try and get pregnant again.

So you need the advice from a medical professional who knows your medical history.

Yes it is too soon! I had a miscarriage also and waited one year. I did not have a D&C, but a tubal pregnacy that errupted. Waiting a year was the advice I recieved from my doc to have a pregnacy w/o complications.

Please consider the consequences of getting pregnate too soon; higher risk of complications, high expectations, increased failure rate, bed rest, expensive, ruined chance of fertility due to damage of uterus.

It has been three years since my miscarraige and I now have a healthy toddler who is two! Good Luck

I believe you should wait at least 3 months to try to conceive again. Although you might not have had a D&C, your body still needs to get back to normal. If you get pregnant again right away, you are at risk of a second miscarriage. Don't be in a hurry, you should wait.

Doctors recommed that you don't try to conceive for at least 2 to 4 months. Give your body time to heal.
