Have a luau, aka a hawain theme. Boys love it, because it's easy... and girls love to wear the cocount bras. Thats only if it's before the chilly october.

Theres some really inexpensive decorations. also if you look around the website there are some more themes.

But it's pretty simple, even if everyone doesn't want to dress up, a simple Leis (flower) necklace around the neck, and some pastel colors would work.
Thats a great outdoor type party too, so you can have more space.

If it's colder, try a Mexican Theme party, tacos and nachos, are a famous food. again a good link:

Don't all themes require costumes? How about a Pirate theme, since it's popular with the recent pirate movie. If you have a pool, maybe you could have some games where the loser has to walk the plank.

A fun theme is the roaring 1920's- have everyone ask their grandparents for old clothes- army uniforms, flapper costumes- play swing music and have a blast!

Or you can take any decade, 60's (dress as hippies, eat on blankets on the floor, put up flowers and peace signs for decoration), 70's (Wear bell bottoms and big hair, eat fondue and casseroles, put up a disco ball), 80's (dress punk- bright colors, leggings, side ponytails)..

Happy Birthday!

Hi
What about a what I want to be party everyone comes as what they want to be in life : a country singer, a doctor etc you could even have a talent show where the winner wins a prize. also it would be great to explore what everyone else dreams of being. And I imagine some of the costumes could be pretty outrageous.

How about a Disco 70's theme, or a Las Vegas night?

well lets see here you can have an awesome party if you do like a BBQ and a like tiki party or you could pick out 2 colors like green and red(just for example they look horrible together except for Christmas) and get those color balloons and make food or buy food in those colors.
