After a long break from the spotlight, Pfeiffer returned to acting in 2006. Her first project teamed her with director Amy Heckerling in the romantic comedy I Could Never Be Your Woman (opposite Paul Rudd, released Summer 2006) as well as opposite Robert DeNiro, Claire Danes, and Sienna Miller in the science fiction fantasy epic Stardust, due to be released in 2007. It has been confirmed that she will co-star in the film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Hairspray as Velma Von Tussle.
In an August 2006 In Style interview, her first given in many years, Pfeiffer discussed her return to making movies. Now with her children a bit older, Michelle contends, "I'm a better mother if I also work. Leaving home for little spurts is actually a good thing. Things don't fall apart. It empowers them without me hovering, making everyone feel inadequate." Pfeiffer also discussed plastic surgery, Hollywood's obsession with it, and now in her 40s, her own thoughts on going under the knife. "You see some freakish things... I'm hoping I'm courageous enough to age gracefully."

The last film of Michelle Pfeiffer's that could be said to have entered the majority's consciousness was What Lies Beneath with Harrison Ford in 2000. Since then, according to IDMB, she has starred in I am Sam, White Oleander and provided the voice for Sinbad: Legend of the seven seas. She has also completed I Could Never Be Your Woman, due for release in 2006, Stardust, for 2007, Hairspray is in pre-production for 2007 and she is in talks about Chasing Montana, due for release in 2008.

Michelle is still gorgeous. She just filmed a film, has two films in pre-production-one in 2006 and 2007 and one in post-production for next year. She'll be in the second movie version of Hairspray with John Travolta and Queen Latifah this fall. She's been working and been busy, even with family.

You know Hollywood. If a woman is over 40 they assume no one will want to see her in a film. It happens to most female actors. Personally i don't get it, some sexist male film producers idea.

I don't know what work she is doing these days, but recently I saw her w/her husband David E. Kelley on one of those Entertainment Tonight-type shows and she has held up VERY well for her age.

She's still beautiful. She gave an interview and she said she was concentrating on her family and because she's getting older she doesn't get many good scripts anymore. That's too bad because I like her.
