The man was drunk. He made a comment while drunk. While drunkeness is not a good thing, most people will not hold a man (or woman) accountable for what they say or do while drunk. He made a comment while drunk and now the press is trying to slam him because of the whole Passion of the Christ film. There was controversy about that movie being anti-semitic because he took it from the Bible in which the jews are blamed for Jesus being crucified. Now they are saying he is antisemitic because he made a comment while drunk. Sometimes people who became angry while drunk make comments without thinking them through. I knew a white guy who said negative things to a black cop while drunk. This guy has nothing against black people and even married a black woman. So I think Mel is being crucified for making a mistake while drunk

They have what he said on a recording. How can you misinterperate that?

And I agree, look at The Passion of the Christ.

I think the Passion of the Christ proves that he most definitley NOT misinterperated

Mel Gibson is so overrated. Nobody likes him....and he is an egotistical homophobe that needs a very large penis rammed up his rectum until he apologizes for all his stupidity.

If he was misinterperated, why did he apologize? I love Mel but I think he said what he said, maybe he didn't mean it, but whatever who cares.

Not sure he was necessarily misinterpreted, but working closely with the old testament Community and THEIR prejudices as closely as he does - I can understand his frustrations if not his vocalisation in that manner
