it's not to receive radio but to listen to your library on your car stereo

Generally, no. Broadcasting over a FM modulator is problematic unless you live in the middle of nowhere as the radio stations use many of the frequencies that your transmitter will use. This can cause your signal to be broken up or overridden all together.

This can be somewhat remedied by a fm booster, but at best it will sound like regular radio and not anywhere near cd quality.

If you really want to get your ipod into your car without sacrificing sound quality, you can can:
Buy a new head unit with Ipod slot.
Order a RCA to 1/8" male stereo and plug it into the back of your current head unit.
Buy

My friend has one and it seems to be really good quality. He also said it has a pretty good range. The only problem is that if you drive by someone who also has one you might get mixed signals, and for some reason he had problems with using it in downtown Toronto.

I don't have an ipod, but I would def get this if I did.. you can fit so many more songs than a CD, it's so convenient!

I think they are definitely worthwhile. You can get them pretty cheap. Don't have a lot of range, but then they don't need to.

We have two in my family, one is an iTrip, forget the make of the other. Both were about 30 quid each and the quality seems about the same between them. You can get ones that are much cheaper. Can't speak for the quality of those.

Don't regret buying them for a second.

Yes, definitely worth it. Get one that has a charger attached if you really only plan use the transmitter in your car.
But also get one that let's you choose the stations you want to use. I had one that only gave me 6 pre-set frequencies, most of which were being used by some station in the L.A. area.

They can work great. You do definitely get what you pay for though. Check out this one.
