I've been playing tennis almost everyday, after a few days my wrist started to hurt. Everyone is telling me to ice it but it doesn't seem to help at all, I get the impression that it's not just sore muscles. My hand hurts as well... please help me. It's essential that I keep playing tennis. Oh, the wrist that hurts is the wrist that I hold the racquet with.

Make sure your grip is correct when serving and or swinging. Also keep your wrist locked straight as much as possible when you play. The only time you should use the wrist (only a bit) is when you serve.

My guess is that you've injured a tendon in your wrist, which is a pretty common injury with tennis players.
First thing to do is to check your technique. Poor racket grip can lead to more stress on your wrist, and therefore more injuries. You should also make sure that you're not trying to use your wrist to generate power on your strokes - the wrist should just be part of the process that really starts with the trunk of your body.
I'd also suggest doing some wrist and forearm exercises, to strengthen those muscles. Playing every day, you're only going to make it worse if you don't start trying to make yourself stronger.

Hi..
I think you should massage the muscles of the arm starting from the elbow ..and ice the wrist and the forearm. Try to rest your wrist for few days and stop using the computer also. good luck

could be a disease called RSI, but i'm not sure . anyone can get it, especially tennis players. it's when you use a muscle too much, your wrist in this case, and your mucsle starts tearing up or stretching out or something like that. then it rips if countinued.you should go to a doctor to be sure beacause it may be something else.i'm not sure how to treat it but i know it could be.

Get a wrist splint (available at drug store or wal-mart) and try that - you may need extra support for that wrist right now.

You could ice the parts that hurt and stop playing tennis for while or until you feel the pain has decreased or stopped

Just build your grip up with over wraps so you can't squeeze the racket so tight. You will notice an improvement right away.

sounds like "tendonitis"
...alternate cold and hot. LAY OFF tennis for a week.
...no improvement, see a Dr.
...improvement, LOSE the graphite racket for at least a month.
