There is a note that if you leave the broken mirror where it is and don't clean it up for at least 7 hours then you will only have 7 hours of bad luck instead of 7 years. HOWEVER, those 7 hours of bad luck will be MUCH worse then the 7 years would be because the bad luck is condensed.

Don't focus you energy/attention to the fact that you broke a mirror.
infact, sometimes "bad luck" is good. It could change you whole life into a more better way.
i broke two mirrors and nothing BAD has happened.
Only that i moved to New Zealand for a year and four month and decided to come back to USA and now living alone ( im only 15. i lived with my mother but she had to go back) but this all taught my to be more independent.
So, it is good. I feel like now, i can live anywhere i want to and do whatever i want to, and have no limitation of feeling homesick.
So, conclusion is. Breaking a mirror ain't too bad.

The bad luck could be averted, by grinding the mirror shards to dust so that no shattered reflections could again be seen in them. The early American slaves adopted a less grueling way to deal with this kind of ill luck: submerge the broken mirror pieces in a stream of south-running water, and the bad luck would be washed away in seven hours.

The only way is to make a mirror ball from the pieces and host a 70's party

Its a superstition, and all you are doing is tricking your mind into believing you will have bad luck, and the first bad thing that happens to you you will blame it on the mirror.

What I do is take the pieces and make mirror-murals on my wall. It looks snazzy AND reverses bad luck. (Plus, it doubles as a tongue twister: "Mira made mirror-murals on the mall wall."
