I don't think Beckham was totally bad as a Captain, but I think his time has passed. Now with England clearly having to go with a more youthful side a more youthful captain is an asset. Terry is a solid defender, has scored his share of goals, and can inspire confidence from the back.

Oh the irony. a million. Why do you have him wearing the captain's armband on your avatar? 2. He hasn't informed Xavi to close up because of the fact he has greater classification than him. each each now and then you may no longer combat fire with fire. 3. How has he been much less committed to Arsenal this season? reason he hasn't scored as many objectives? what number objectives has the *astonishing* Gary Neville scored? specific, I understand he's a defender, yet nevertheless. Vidic has scored plenty. 4. Who kisses the crest those days... i think of that is bloody obnoxious. even although Gerrard does it. 5. whilst has he no longer shown admire to Arsenal? i'm relatively useful he's apologised for each little thing he's complete and praised the club whilst his Barca buddies bashed it. Jesus Christ. EDIT - you think of he's an surprising captain on the pitch? Then why are you asking this question? you basically shot your self in the foot, laddy.

Being Scottish, normally I don`t give a XXXX about Engurland, too busy cheering on the Rest of the World. But in that typical English you have to be connected to London to be anyone, you picked the wrong man. Steven Gerrard is your natural leader, a man who calls a spade a spade, not a digging implelememt like that idiot Beckham would. By the way, you should have taken Martin O`Neill as your manager. Mc Laren will be the worst manager since Graham Taylor.

I LOVE JOHN TERRY. He is one of the greatest defenders in the world. And an awesome all around player. I like Gerrard also. If you ask me, I think it's great that England has such great choices to choose from for captain.

HEY j20ndc:
You wouldn't know football skills if it punched you in the face, you balding retard.

Two good stalwarts for England.....Gerrard is my personal favorite. His loyalty in wanting to stay with Liverpool, rather than move to Chelsea & gain a substantial pay rise proves there is loyalty in football these days. Terry will make a good captain though....he gave it all in the World Cup...

i'm sure terry will do a good job as captain because he is so vocal and will never stop working, however i would have chosen Gerrard simply because i think an international captain needs to inspire his team, and gerrards surging forward runs and non-stop work rate would do the trick

Good Choice, reports that Gerrard nearly nicked it are unfounded. And you can look for the funny side of that yourself!
