You know I have never thought of that. My sister saves the old wooden ones in a large gallon glass jars as she said that they would be a collectors item! I bet that you could make up cute puppeteers with them but you`d have to croquet or sew clothes on them, but use the empty spools for the head body arms and legs...Maybe I will try that! Thank a million for the idea....Keep up the good work who ever thought this question up!!!

Cut it in half so you have two short spools. Then paint and use as spacers between a plant hook and the ceiling.

Stick some wire brads in them and use to support small items that are being painted.

Throw them off tall buildings and call it "performance art" then apply for a government grant.

How about creating little people, using the spool as a body and maybe a cotton ball for a head. Pipe cleaner would work well as apendages

Are they wooden - I saw a lady who strung them together and made dolls. I saw another lady who sort of glued them to a round wreath for a Christmas prest for a crafty type person.
