americans did'nt play cricket for a very long time but now they started showing up some interest towards the game. Americans lack patience n the english (Britain people) have vary patience, so cricket was played by englishmen and rarely by americans.

americans dont understand the differences between baseball and cricket. they think cricket is a variant of baseball. they also have so many other sports like NASCAR, NBA, Football, etc which they follow which are total unknowns to others.

because it takes too long for them to play. They don't have the attention span for it. Imagine an American at a Test Match. That would be hysterical. Also, because it's a british game. they took cricket and turned it into baseball, basically a shorter version better suited for them.

Bowl boy bowl!!! I used to love it when my Dad said that.
Either of the first 2 answers are on the mark. Heck it's like asking why they call it football? Only one person is allowed to kick the ball; only one time and into the air at that. LOL

because it was a British game. when the people came to the Americas the last thing they wanted was to bring something from the old world into the new.

I guess americans will not understand the concept of "accepting the umpires verdict" without showing dissent.
