Whoever made these models bought a Styrofoam ball and cut a slice out of it and then painted it. For the nucleus they got a second, smaller Styrofoam ball and cut a slice out of it. They used pipe cleaners and folded pieces of construction paper, also painted.

Go to an Art Store or Walmart and look in the craft section. You can also find buttons and beads that can be used.

Well, you can go to you local arts and crafts store and buy different size balls of styrofoam. Ask which paint will look best on the styrofoam. I had a similar project to due when of a cell when i was in biology and those are the materials i used. So, look for styrofoam.

Go to a decent craft store and purchase styrofoam balls and pipe cleaners, as well as some craft paint. They should have everything you need to just about duplicate what you've got in that image.

You can either use Styrofoam balls or those magnetic sticks available in shops.
