My husband stuck to his word and helped with the middle of the night feedings and diaper changes. He didn't do much with the extra laundry, but that's OK...I've banned him from using the washer and dryer, so I didn't expect him to help, lol.

He works nights, so when he went back to work, his helping stopped--but only because of his schedule. On the weekends when he was off, he still got up with the baby.

I don't want to say all men are the same, so I am hoping that yours is different in some way. (wishful thinking)
My story: when our daughter was just months old and not sleeping through the night I was so tired having to wake up 2am feed her, change the diaper and put her back to sleep. Then try to sleep myself for 3-hrs before it was time to get up. One night when our daughter woke up, I had to play as if I was passed out so that he would get up and feed her. No mother in her right mind could sleep through a baby's cries, but that night I pretended to.
Good Luck!!!!

When the baby first came home my husband was a huge help to me. We took turns getting up at night and diapering the baby. Then he went back to work and it all changed. The baby became my sole responsibility. It worked out ok though because I got to bond with the baby.

My hubby and I took turns waking up with the baby. I would pump a bottle every day for him to give her in the middle of this night. He was in charge of the bath every night too. I still did more, but that's because I was nursing.

I husband wakes up every now and then with her. BUT every night when he comes home from work, he keeps her diapers changed, feeds her dinner and bathes her. Good luck

When my children were babies, I did most of the diaper changes and bathes. I enjoyed it.
