Or anywhere else out of the USA?
Why or why not? IF (and I do mean IF) a Democrat (I hope not) gets voted in during the 2008 elections, will YOU move if things don't go in a way you disagree with?
If the answer to the first question was yes (dissentors/complainers should move) but the answer to the second question is no (no, you won't move if you begin to disagree), please explain why those who disagree with YOU should stop fighting and move but you shouldn't have to move when you fight for what you believe.
Real answers as best you can.
Please, I can't stand the whole Democrat/Republican bashing crap. But I have been called a whiny liberal for disagreeing and told to move because I don't agree with the direction this country is going (true conservatives don't).
I want to know why I am being told to move when voicing an opinion but the same people didn't move when they were whining about the liberals.

It would be nice if people would learn from you! Respect the position, but always question it.
There is a right way and wrong way to grill the presidency. Thanks, I appreciate the input!

ANGELS RAISIN... and MIRA
Believe if you disagree, don't fight. Just move. Is that right? Seriously, please enlighten me. And for you two, if you disagree with whoever gets voted in next, will YOU move?

I didn't ask a question about Johnny Depp. I don't know why you mentioned him.

JVern,
I then owe you an apology and accept yours for our respective posts on previous questions. Thank you for the humility in recognizing your mistake. I wish others would and, though I try to practice that, I, myself, can use more caution as well.
I think we all know how difficult it ius when most people just wanna call names rather than debate logically and listen to other POVs.

Johnny Depp moved to France when Bush was elected and promised not to return until he is out office.
And yet we have been subjected to his stilted, wooden acting. His acting skills are as shallow as his conviction in standing up for what he believes.
Its just silly posturing. If people are unhappy they should vote all incumbents out of office and let the next batch try their hand at it.
But people are afraid to do that because they'd rather stick with the scoundrel they know then then risk getting someone even worse.
The political parties are beholden to special interests and cater only to groups they know will vote for them; but after the election only cater to the special interest groups.
The system is broken, but until we, the people, can fix it, we'll never get the politicians' snouts out of the taxpayer trough. And going to France is no solution, it sucks over there.

I agree with JVern.
Also, I did not mean to jump to conclusions when I responded to you yesterday and told you to move to France. If you are an open thinker and an independent then we probably have more in common then we think.
I just get tired of the Bush bashing. It gets really old. If people don't agree with the current administration, just wait two years. That is the beauty of this country. I don't care if it is a Republican or a Democrat, as long as they don't take an apologetic stance with the rest of the world. We have nothing to feel sorry for, or try to understand from uncivilized animals bent on our destruction.
Long story short, I am not going anywhere. I will stay here and fight, for the rest of my days, to try and keep this country what my forefathers fought to make it.
Those who wish to tamper with those ideals are the only people I have a problem with (i.e. Muslims, Illegal Immigrants, whiny *** liberals and, yes, some conservatives).

Anyone who says a perosn should move for not agreeing wiht the government is missing the whole point of living in a Democratic Republic. We have the RIGHT to disagree with the administration and when enough people want the current representatives changed there is a change! It's called "voting" and the only ones who don't want it are the ones who are currently having things the way they want them - every time it changes people whine and complain.
If anyone doesn't like it, tell them to vote. If they get enough people who agree with them to do the same, then they get their way.
I don't care who someone votes for - as long as they don't NOT vote and then complain.

I didn't move out of this country when Bush raised oil costs and started wars with other countries, why would I ever leave because of a stupid politician???? If I disagree with my government I let them know about it. I stand up just as my ancestors fought and died for my freedom of opinion. One voice is not enough and I am not naive enough to believe that I could go against the government by myself, but everyone Republican and Democratic a like need to take a strong stand against our government. They need to start worrying about our country and our people. The citizens of this nation have a responsibility to show our government where they are performing badly. Thank you for asking this question.

I'll let Theodore Roosevelt answer this question:
"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."

when is anyone ever going to be extremely happy with everything an administration does?
just as in everyday life...there is a certain way to handle things. If you don't like something such as the war you can voice your opinion but i feel we have an obligation to still support the troops.
The term Liberalism makes people think of change..and new...and going away from the old. That makes people scared you are trying to change what america is. I know liberals (well... most) don't want that. People going to the extreme of telling someone to leave it if they don't like it..comes out of being scared.
I thin you should voice your opinion but do something positive for all the negative comments one might make.
just my thoughts..

I don't think France is big enough to hold us all. Bush's approval rating is running at about 35%, give or take a few points depending on which poll you look at. That means that (working from the 2000 census) 2,475,597 people have some sort problem with the current administration. Something tells me France is not going to grant that many immigration visas.

No, just tolerate what's going on until a better administration comes in. Take the bad(now) with the good(hopefully next). I would hope a democrat gets in because the republicans are turning this country and economy into a MESS.

No, but we live in a country where we have the RIGHT to vote, and if your guy doesn't win...too bad this is the best country in the world so get over it and don't disrespect the guy who did win. I do think if people think it's SOOOO bad here, try living in Africa or the Middle East...or some place like that for even a day....American won't look so bad after all.

While I enjoy the dem/rep bashing (pure entertainment) disagreements are needed in a healthy society! Do we want to become robots and agree with everyone else? In that case there would be one place to eat, shop, etc.... My point is we need diversity in everyday life. Agree, disagree, to bash or not to bash. Come on folks the world is in turmoil so instead let's have a little fun!!!

If everyone who disagreed with the administration moved to France, the French would have a population problem that no one could solve. We do have freedom of expression (except in airports) here so why move?
