If you need to wait 15 minutes to open a website, there is something seriously wrong. This is what I would recommend:

1. Get spyware protection. Lavasoft Adaware is quite good. Go to a friend with broadband connection, download it and burn it into a CD. Take it home and install it on your computer. Run the scan periodically. Refer to the link in the source section.
2. Get a antivirus software too. Scan your computer periodically.
3. If you are using Windows, go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel to remove any malicious softwares and any softwares you do not need in your computer. Get some help here if you are not too familiar with the programs.
4. Run Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmentor periodically if you are using Windows.

It depends on the memory of your PC. Also make sure that you don't have a lot of items on your desktop...apparently they take up to much memory. So try to delete some of the desktops copies that you may have. Only delete the COPIES this way you don't lose any items. Hope this helps you.

This is serious, I suspect there is a problem in resolving things like www.yahoo.ca to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (numeric, IP) since machines referring to each other by IPs. if you do http://206.109.112.135 and Yahoo CA shows up in a jiffy my suspicious is correct. Unfortunately at this point I would call up tech support of your ISP, describing what had transpired and let them solve this DNS problem for you.

PCTools software (registry cleaner,....) could help you to ajust your computer faster.
Disk defragmenter on programfiles/accessories/system tools could help you so.
But remember installing and uninstalling programs or games could copy some file to your system files witch windows load it when start. therefore you'd better backup your files and have a new windows and enjoy it

Download Ad Aware SE Personal and remove Spyware although it won't get rid of all of it.
