There wasn't one...The hit parade didnt start until 1952!!!!!

No number 1, no hit parade in 1946. It is possible that Frank Sinatra or Perry Como may have been the most popular singer at that time. Or even Bing Crosby.

I thought the chart didn't start to 1953. I have every number one from 1953 to 2005 on CD, but it does not give dates.

There wasn't one, but if there had been, it would probably been something like Bing Crosby, The Andrews Sisters or Mr Blobby. (Might be wrong about the last one)
