I remember that there was a resurgence in the late 1990's-early 2000's. But then the stations started going off the air. And techno artists started selling all of their songs to corporations to be used as commercials. Especially car commercials. And it became associated with the trendy preppy/ jock club crowd. Those are my theories. Will it come back in the spotlight. i still listen to underground trance but it is on community radio. Can't find dance on the dial like you used to. Easpecially here in Florida. I know Chicago lost their only station too. It was replaced with Spanish music or something.

I'm in St. Louis.. we have a radio station that still plays electronic music every Wednesday night from 2am - 4am... It sucks that it has to be this way.. But dance music just isn't mainstream here... and just doesn't sell...

For me, I like the way it is. I like this kind of music to stay underground. I like searching out new artists to listen to, and know that maybe I found a rare gem in the music world...

I'm a DJ.... as much as I would love to be able to turn on a radio at any given time and hear a bangin track... I doubt it'll ever happen in the US.

I dunno what the reason is, but I have mp3s that I can listen to...I never listened to it a lot on the radio, but even clubs don't play much anymore...guess you could find some stations on XM Radio or Sirius that still have it...I would hope!
