I don't know that it is really a blood clot, it sounds like poor wound healing. If the wound/incision site is poking outward it could be due to a fluid collection or just the way it was sutured. A blood clot is more common after surgery, but not in the location of the surgery. Post-op blood clots are more likely to happen in your legs or other extremities after surgery because you are lying in bed and not moving around as much as usual (the same reason people are more likely to get clots in their legs after long plane flights). Go see your doctor or surgeon to take a look at the wound.

A blood clot after surgery forms in the blood vessels, not at the incision site. Healing is usually uneven. The abdomen is easily pulled and stretched, causing the uneven healing you describe. If the wound is weeping a milky fluid, you need to see the doctor asap. If there is tissue protruding from the incision, you need to see the doctor asap. Otherwise, it sounds like your incision is healing normally. The symptoms of a blood clot are sharp pain in the calves, lungs or chest. If you have any of these, call the EMS right away.

was it a tummy tuck??? must be a large scar. it's just puckering probably (i work in a hospital, not surgery, the lab) none the less, that's what it sounds like. (probably the way your lying in bed at night too). wouldn't worry about it. it will flatten out most likely, or it could be that that side of the scar is turning into a keloid scar. blood clots are usually formed after surgery when you don't get up and move around (for circulation). so it depends. but good luck with it hun!!! i'm sure you'll be fine.

It will be swollen you have just been cut open. I have 2 scars (one 8" and one about 16") and both are still a bit puffed up, and my surgery was prob 6 and 8 years ago now. i have no muscle tone below them now. You are very early days after surgery, take it easy get it checked out by a proffesional tommorow, and if you are still worried, get it checked again. I would guess at it not being a blood clot.

I honestly don't know the ins and outs of what may or not be a blood clot, but blood clots can become seriously life-threatening, so if you have the slightest idea that it might be, I would see a doctor immediately. My dad had one in his leg, and it could have killed him if he hadn't gone to the ER.

it relatively is no longer the operation that brought about the blood clots. Blood clots are brought about with the aid of detrimental flow. i'm shocked that the Dr. did no longer positioned your buddy on a blood thinner after surgical treatment. additionally, you are able to positioned on help stockings to assist ward off blood clots. (no longer pantyhose) they are pronounced as TEDS and JOBST stockings
