The main guys are Verizon and Sprint. Yes, SBC and a few other companies have them too, but they're more expensive or not as good.

Verizon has "high" speed access for about $80/month minus any discounts you might have. Sprint offers it for approx $60/mo. minus discounts If you are a customer of theirs already via cellphone, etc, then you'd get additional discounts (be sure to ask).

The card that works with your laptop costs approx $250. Verizon and Sprint regularly have rebates to cover most, if not all of that cost.

Don't do the T-mobile hot spot or the other guys. T-mobile hotspots are limited to just a few areas here/there whereas the Verizon and Sprint cards work just about anywhere you get a phone signal.

Another bene of having the card is that it functions as your wireless card at home and travelling as well to get you into your home wireless network.

Anyways, to find out more about it, you can go to one of their booths as those sales guys are usually on commission and will try to hook you up with as good of a deal as they can to get you to sign up.

Yahoo doesn't provide it's own internet. It has deals with other companies... like Verizon and SBC(or AT&T now). So what you need to do is call AT&T and ask them if they have such service.

You're probably going to have to get them through a cell phone provider, they are the only companies that I am aware of who provide wireless internet cards... Sprint/Nextel, Verizon, or Cingular would be your best bet.

Edit:
SBC (the new AT&T)'s wireless branch is Cingular Wireless.
