I know Gordon has only won two races this year and hasn't done all that well, but he could still have a chance. Just when you think he's finished he comes back. Gordon has done that in his racing career. He may not do all that good in the regular season, but he does good enough to make the chase for the cup. Then he shows the racin side of him and does awesome.

Ok, so those of us who frequently visit the NASCAR motorsports section of Yahoo! Answers all know that I am mildly...ok...extremely obsessed with Jeff Gordon. Unfortunately, I have to say that his chances for actually WINNING the cup are slim. I think he will have a strong showing in Michigan, and I think he'll manage to stay in the top ten. I think best he'll finish this year is fifth. Just my opinion.

More than anyone here I would LOVE to see my sexy speed racer win the cup. Im rootin for 48 cause I think it would be awesome to see a Hendrick hot boy win this year! Johnson really deserves it, hes been great all year......

Gordon needs to work really hard to get up there in points. I HOPE that he's high up there when it ends, but ..... well..... i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I don't really know about Jeff. As far as I'm concerned, the drivers from 5 in standings to 10 have a big chance in changing positions when the cup races start. So, if Jeff does super well through pretty much ALL or MOST of the up coming races, he could certainly win the cup. Or, if he doesn't fairly or poorly, he might not have the slightest chance. It's a gamble still for a lot of those drivers, and we will just have to wait and see who stays and who goes in the point standings.

View my similar question: there are 2 spots left in the Chase, w/ Jr, Gordon, & Kahne vying for them. In the final four races, Jr & Kahne had better average finishes at those races eariler in the year...but who knows.

The cup is still up for grabs to anyone, a race can make or break you so there is still hope for anyone that is still up to the chase.

He has the chance, esp if he stays in the top ten. I mean, if he stays in the top ten and when everything gets evened out for the final ten he's got a huge chance. The thing is the Dupont team really seems to be turning things around. They are seeming to arrive with better cars, and Jeff seems to be driving them better, and luck has seemed to have been better with them.. So heck yeah, he's got a chance.

You're first question should be, will he even make it into the chase, because right now, it isn't certain yet. I doubt Gordon will be a contender for the champ this year.

No, he's not going to come back and win the cup, to many other drivers have come up to or passed his level for him to make a comeback, but keep an eye on his stable mate Jimmy Johnson.

I don't think so! I think he may make the chase, but he won't win the cup!

To all the above people who said he is "gay"...I don't care for the guy either...but you are showing how ignorant you are!
