professional artists make pretty good money on album sales and super good money on touring.
professional singers (opera, theatre, choirs, etc) range between getting paid nothing and singing for the love of it, to being paid well enough to live nicely.
none of it is very secure work or a steady living.

Depends. Sometimes it's not how good you sing that makes you well-paid. Most of the time it's the politics in showbusiness.

It depends on what you sing, who you are, you talent, where you sing. Do you do it professionally? Do you write you own songs?
