The tube isn't exactly cheap if you're going to and from every weekday... What would you recommend? Tube? Bus? Train? Combo (of no more than 2)? How much would the different options cost? Any advice would be appreciated.

Take the Jubilee line from Kilburn to Westminster, change to the eastbound Circle/District line and alight at Temple.
USE AN OYSTER CARD! The card can hold up to three seperate accounts, make sure one is a zone 1 to 2 monthly travelcard. Stick some pre-pay on it as well.
Now you can travel around all over London on the buses, tube and DLR. Its much, much cheaper than buying paper tickets and the card automatically gives the cheapest fare and thern caps itself once you reach travelcard status.
If you can travel after 9:30 in the morning it gets even cheaper [its called off-peak].
You can pick up a leaflet from most if not all tube stations and the card itself is free.
I work for London Underground and get asked this question dozens of time a week.
See you around!!

Absolute cheapest option: walk.
Second cheapest option, which I recommend: Buy a bike off a crackhead for £30 and cycle.
Third and subsequent non-private-car options involve travelling in an environment within an atmosphere consisting almost entirely of the noxious bodily odours and methane expellations of miserable people, and I cannot not recommend this highly enough.

Cycle some of the way , past the next zone or two and then catch the tube the rest of the way.
