I know this sounds a little gross, and a little strange but there's been a smell in my car, (much like the episode of Seinfeld) where when I tilt my sunroof up, there's this smell of like crayons, or some people think it's mildew. How would I be able to get rid of this gross monster smell in my car!? I used Febreeze and air fresheners, left my car open to air out. No clue what it is!!

Time to get it detailed by a professional.

If professional cleaning fails:

Try a deodorizer - you can get the kind that clip inside your heating and a/c system.

Also, go to the grocery store and buy a box of baking soda - the kind with the peel away sides that is designed for fridge and freezer. Provided you open it right, you won't spill powder in the car and it absorbs almost ANY odor. Maybe put it under a seat or a side pocket??

If its mildew, you need a chemical drying agent. It will absorb moisture and prevent mildew. They usually have no smell, so you may still need an airfreshener or deodorizer. Look for them where closet and laundry supplies are sold. Same as baking soda, they are in a container that is designed to let air in, but no powder or chemicals out.

Stop spraying anything liquid if its mildew - even Febreeze will make mildew worse. If you find mildew, use X-14 (Target, Walmart, etc) to kill it. (check for colorfastness first, though)

Good luck!

Use the neutralizer in a hair dye box and wipe everything down. All your doing with the air freshners is covering it up. It works for cat stink too.
