you should check out ModelLaunch.com they are a website designed specifically for male models. A friend of mine used them and was very successful!

Actually the other person is wrong - you need a portfolio. Find a local photographer who needs model and the both of you work together and offer the other fee work (free modeling for copies of the photos) try checking craigslist.com for amateur photogs in your area.......
