One acre is slightly less than 91 yards on an American Football field, with the full field, including the end zones, covering approximately 1.32 acres.

So 10 acres is about 7.5 football fields.

Wow...a lot of bad answers and a few good ones. The football reference has been answered, but just to expand a little bit, 1 sq. mile is 640 acres.

That means 1/4th of a sq. mile (draw a square 1/2 mi. by 1/2 mi.) is 160 acres. A square 1/4 mi. by 1/4 mi. is 40 acres. And finally, 1/8 mile by 1/8 mile is 10 acres.

Maybe that's a little bit easier to imagine than 7 or 8 football fields.

Let just answer the question...simply. ;)

10 acres = 435 600 square feet

A football field [not counting the endzones] is 160 feet x 300 feet
or 48 000 square feet.

435 800 divided by 48 000 = 9.072

Or

10 Acres equals approximately 9 football fields,

Or

1.29 square miles

or a small shopping mall ;)

10 acres is a little bit bigger than a football field. in fact 10 acres is 0.02 square mile.

go to http://www.onlineconversion.com/area.htm

10 acres = 48 400 yard
48, 400 * 3 = 145, 200 ft

a football is 120 yard

Hmm, that's a tough one! I live on 5 acres up here in the mountains, and if I remember right, the area is about 330' by 700'. Double that, and you've got a pretty good idea.

A football feild is 53.333 yard across, for some goofy reason (they decided that 300 feet by 160 feet was the ideal playing area).

Exactly 1600 sq rods, 40 sq furlongs, 1/64 sq mile, 100 sq chains .......... the list goes on.
BTW, how wide is a football field?
