She was thinking that it was unsafe, but I don't know if that's true because I know a lot of people who do it, and they're eyes are fine! Please answer this because I need to know! But, please only answer this if you are experienced in this type of thing and know what you're talking about. I will only rate your answer the best if you say in your sources what exactly you do that makes you qualified to answer this. Thank you!

You can do this if it doesn't irritate your eyes, but I wouldn't do it every day.

A dry pencil liner is the best kind to use because the inner rim of your eyelid is moist and it will stick better. You should also sharpen it before every use so you won't introduce bacteria into your eye.

When applying, pull your lower eyelid away from your eye a little to avoid poking your eyeball, and draw short little lines. Don't press hard, it may take a few strokes to really see the color as moisture tends to dilute it at first.

Use almay eyeliners or another brand that is made with non irritating ingredients. If you use liquid eyeliner, start about a millimeter above where your tearduct is otherwise it will draw some of the liquid into itself, which can be uncomfortable. If you use pencils or powders, it doesn't really matter because they are less likely to run. I am not a licensed cosmetologist, but I am a mortician and had to learn a lot of the same stuff they do. Oh, keep your eyelid soft, don't tug at it while applying because that will eventually show when you are older (wrinkles)

This not unsafe if you are careful. The only thing unsafe is if you poke yourself in the eye or use an eyeliner pencil that is not sanitary. I am of course talking about an eyeliner pencil. I would not use liquid eyeliner as it is to moist and can irritate your eye. In my professional opinion I have done it on my self and on brides and models. Your best answer may actually come from an opthamologist. Good Luck

its fine to do, but just avoid putting the eyeliner on the tear ducts (at the very inner corner closest to your nose of your inner eyelid) because they can get clogged and infected...also, make sure not to share your eyeliner with anyone because you can also pass infections this way. one more thing....if you are using a eyeliner that is like a pencil that needs to be sharpened, be really careful because the wood could accidently scratch your eye if its not sharpened enough...try using a self-sharpening liner instead (the kind you roll up, like covergirl perfect point plus)

I am not a specialist, or qualified in this, but have done it for 30 years, and my eyes have been fine, go more towards the lash and not the eye.

I'm a cosmetologist. The books say don't use it there but personally I do use it there so just do what you feel most comfortable with. If it burns while putting it there Do NOT do it.

I usually line my bottom inner rim with a pearly blue, makes them look wider. And , stupidly, I use eyeshadow to do this, I never liked using pencils, they're too hard. Just be careful of the little specks that get in, and they do get in, but you get used to them.
