i have a 1996 cutlass supreme. i was told the check engine light was upluged. would anyone know where it is?

I don't think it can be 'unplugged' I think you just mean they took the bulb out. It's right behind the dash where the check engine light comes on. You'll have to take it out and put a new bulb in. And fry the a** of the person who took it out; that's illegal.
