You adress them with a "Hello" followed by their name, but be sure the person you are talking to isn't busy or talking to someone else. Then ask hin/her how her week/day has been, before talking about yourself. Then, if you do not alreaqdy know this person, make a good impression by not going on about yourself for too long, unless the person seems interested. Then let the person talk about himself/herself and take notice and seem fairly interested so they do not feel like if you were making yourself superior.

Be sure not to interupt them while they talk. Use eye contact at least half of the time, or look anywhere else in their direction. Crack a joke or two to show you have some humour and comment on their hair/dress/look. If you feel you like this person, always ask for their number/contact details on the moment before they leave. If they are in an embarrased state (a stain on their dress or something has just happened), escort him/her to a place where they will feel more secure and less-crowded. Try to help in their situation, but don't make too much of a fuss.

Hope this helped you out. It really helps when talking to someone really polite or posh.

Yes, Nosaiba, I shall try to answer your question as politely as possible. In actual fact, only chat with polite people but as soon as anyone uses rude words that you are not happy with, leave the conversation. They will soon learn that you do not have to listen to what they have to say. I try to be polite all of the time, but as an adult and the nature of my work, it is sometimes necessary to change my tone of voice which in fact upsets me. I find it, now that I am much older, far easier to totally ignore the person for periods of weeks, months or in some extreme circumstances, for years as a result of what that person has said to me. For the period I choose, that person no longer exists. I don't see them, I don't hear them and I certainly have nothing whatsoever to do with them............... Others learn also from the example I set....

Well, you pretty much just chat with somebody and if you decide they're not polite, stop. The internet is a place of anonymity, and all too often that means rude behavior. You just have to try and pick and choose between those out there.

While it may be rare to find polite chatters, they are around. You may want to try chatrooms that aren't based on popular media that focus on teenagers as their age group.

Focus on groups where the main topic of discussion isn't of a sexual nature.

May also try finding a group or chatroom that has a rating limit or profanity filter.

Its usually a needle in a haystack sort of thing. I generally only chat with my buddies I know after we got seperated all over the country. It helps to really know the person in RL.

While it seems that people with manners are few and far between on the internet, rest assured, some of us do exist.
