My buddy has a busa (gsxr1300) and well...he is a whole lot faster than my zx-10. I've been wanting a zx-14 for a while now, but i'm having second thoughts. I really want to be faster than my bud, jus for bragging rights but i heard a zx-12 could out run him, so i wouldn't need a zx-14 right? Is a zx-12 quicker?

Skill is worth more than speed. Sometimes the smaller bikes can whoop the bigger ones. My dad used to race his Triumph, which was 999cc and his CBR1000, he now races his Suzuki SV650 and is passing all the tricked out Ducatis. If you are going to choose between those 2 bikes, I'd choose the 'busa simply because it looks way cooler. Keep it on the track if you're talking about racing....too many stupid drivers/unforseen circumstances on the street. Be safe, we dont want to read about you in the obits!

A friend of mine just purchased a ZX-14. He says it will only do 65 or 70... and then you have to shift into 2nd gear. :-) The Ninja is faster by all reviews I've read.

ZX14 and Hayabusa are almost equal; only a better rider could make either better than the other

There is so much more to how fast you are, than just an engine size...
Corner speed is the key.
Learn how to be fast in the corners and you can blow him away on a SV650.
Trust me on this one.
